Burglar Plunders Long John Silver's in Moosic.
According to Pennsylvania statute, a person is guilty of burglary if he enters a building or occupied structure, with the purpose to commit a crime therein, unless the premises are at the time open to the public or unless the actor is licensed or privileged to enter. Burglary is a felony, and whether it is graded as a first-degree felony or third-degree felony depends on factors such as whether the structure has been adapted for overnight accommodation and whether any person is present therein. And the intent to commit a crime therein must have been formulated prior to or simultaneous with entering and could be for any crime, not only theft.
The Scranton Times-Tribune reports that Long John Silver's restaurant in Moosic was burglarized during the early-morning hours on Saturday after the suspect smashed a glass window for entry. The restaurant is still reviewing inventory in order to discover how much money and other items were taken.
